Currently a Research Scientist at Guide Labs, a product-focused AI research company dedicated to building interpretable and reliable AI technology.
Giang Nguyen earned his PhD in Machine Learning research in 2025 at Auburn University, US, working with Anh Nguyen. He was also a Presidential Research Fellow during PhD, having been awarded the most prestigious Presidential Graduate Research Fellowship at Auburn University in 2021.
Prior to joining Auburn, he earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science at KAIST, South Korea in August 2020. 🇰🇷
During his PhD, he has been working as a Summer Research Associate at JP Morgan AI Research, Manhattan, NYC, NY, in the summer of 2024.
He has published at top-tier AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR) and been an active reviewer for premier AI research venues, such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICCV, ICLR, and ICML.
His research interests are to engineer AI models and agents to be interpretable to human users, making them easy to debug, understand, and ultimately trust by humans.
